Yoga and Hiking Retreat in Mallorca

Join us for this remarkable 5-day yoga and hiking retreat in one of the most beautiful parts of Mallorca, with idyllic hiking spots, gorgeous beaches, turquoise waters, limestone mountains, beautiful pine-covered cliffs and much more. Held at Cal Reiet, a luxury boutique retreat hotel, you’ll experience an atmosphere both elegant and informal. You’ll nourish body and mind with yoga, SaunaGus (aromatherapy in sauna) and healthy and refreshing vegetarian food.

On this yoga adventure, you’ll learn how to breathe properly, practicing more mindful yoga with the right breathing techniques. You’ll discover more about yin and yang, traditional Chinese medicine (TMC) and other useful concepts for daily well-being.

Spring in March

Hiking in nature provides numerous health benefits. In March, when you can experience the early spring bloom (yes, spring starts earlier in Mallorca), you’ll reduce stress hormones by enjoying the healthy scents of trees and plants, an improvement to anyone’s mental health after a long winter. And March averages a pleasant 17ºC (63ºF) in Mallorca, with a typical Mediterranean water temperature of 15ºC (59ºF).

Santanyi, Mallorca

Santanyi is a small and perfectly charming Balearic town in the southeast of Mallorca. With only a 10-minute walk from Cal Reiet, you’ll be in the center of town and experience a laid-back athmosphere, with picturesque streets flanked by quaint and cozy cafés, restaurants and boutiques. The turquoise beach is 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from your hotel, a small sandy cove with fine white sand. Twice a week there is a market in Santanyi, known as the best market in this area by locals.

Hotel Cal Reiet, Spa and Yoga Shala

Cala Reiet is a manor built in 1881 with 15 beautiful rooms. The current owners have created a holistic experience designed to foster rejuvenation and inner peace. Every detail is designed to make you feel at home. You can always find a quiet spot in the garden or by the pool to reconnect with your body, mind and spirit. The hotel has spa facilities with two saunas, a Turkish bath, a hot tub and treatment rooms. You can even book a massage to unwind after a hike.

Depending on the weather, yoga sessions will be conducted either outdoors in a covered yoga terrace or in the indoor yoga shala, both spaces being aesthetically ideal for yoga.

Healthy Vegetarian Food

Cal Reiet's Table is a vegetarian, plant-based restaurant offering vegan and vegetarian dishes. Their mission is to offer tasty, colorful and healthy food loaded with nutrients, aromas and passion. Organic and locally sourced ingredients underpin flavorful and nutritious meals, made fresh and with love – always. During your stay, you’ll also enjoy complementary ginger tea, lemon water and fresh fruits.

In the evenings, there is communal dining with a 3-course menu. Mai Pham enables socializing with intelligent conversation about yoga, health and life in general, but there’s also plenty of time for silence. You decide for yourself how much or how little contact you want. If you’re travelling alone, you’ll meet many wonderful new people – you’ll never feel alone.

Soft Hatha, Slow Flow & Yin Yoga

Pamper both body and mind with a variety of yogas, including Soft Hatha, Slow Flow and meditative Yin. Beginners can definetely join these yoga classes. All yoga sessions are designed to stimulate and support hips and lower back and increase your well being, both during and after hiking. Yin yoga, the asanas (positions) are conducted at a gentle pace, so you can immerse yourself and find inner peace. Focus will be on your breath while you meditate into in the stretches. Each pose is held for roughly 3-6 minutes. Yin yoga targets the connective tissues and improves flexibility in a sustainable way.

Mai Pham, your yoga teacher


Mai is a certified yoga instructor with hatha yoga training from Yogacharya Swami Rama, India. She is a Yin yoga instructor, having trained with both Sarah Powers and Victor Chng. Mai also has a masters degree in Reiki healing. With 30 years of experience and more than 5,000 teaching hours on the yoga mat, shares her fascination with yoga and what you can achieve with it, mentally, physically and spiritually. Mai is the owner of Temple Yoga, which has held 14-16 retreats a year since 2015.

What to bring?

Besides your normal yoga clothes, you should pack comfortable clothing, warm clothing, a bathing suit, a good book, a notebook, shoes for hiking and flip flops. Temple Yoga provides yoga mats, blankets, yoga blocks and eye pillows. You will receive a large Temple Yoga canvas bag to carry your yoga gear.

Who can participate?

Anybody can join this yoga and hiking retreat, even if you haven’t tried yoga before. If you’re new to yoga, participating in a yoga retreat is a great way to start your yoga journey. You’ll learn to breathe properly and get acquainted with different yoga styles. If you’re travelling alone, you can expect to meet a lot of friendly people on this retreat. This retreat will be in English. Mai speaks Danish too. If only Danish people are attending, this retreat will be tought in Danish.

Price per person:

2 persons in a double room:

9,000 dkr. (1200 euros) per person with 2 people in a shared double room.
8,000 dkr. (1067 euros) early-bird price, if you book before January 1, 2022.

If you are travelling alone, you can request to share room with another yogi of same gender.

Booking:

  • Sign up by paying a deposit of 3.500 DKK on Mobilepay 682898. If you do not have Danish Mobilepay, you can learn about other payment options by e-mailing retreat@templeyoga.dk. The deposit is non-refundable upon cancellation.

  • The remaining balance is settled 65 days before your arrival.

  • After full payment (65 days before your arrival), it is not possible to cancel the retreat.

  • Then send an e-mail to retreat@templeyoga.dk with your name, e-mail, phone number, your roommate and flight schedule.

  • Remember to include the date/destination of the retreat in your message.

  • We recommend you purchase cancellation insurance, if you are not covered by your current insurance.

  • If the retreat is cancelled due to Corona/Covid-19 restrictions, you can retain a voucher for another retreat. Temple Yoga offers 14-16 retreats/travelse a year.

  • Airline tickets are not included.

You must purchase and pay for your own airline ticket. Temple Yoga has already bought these specific flights tickets:

Outbound: Saturday, March 5, 2022 - 7:40 am departure from Copenhagen(CPH), 10:40 am arrival at Palma de Mallorca (PMI). Direct flight with SAS.

Homebound: Wednedsday, March 9, 2022 - 10:05 pm departure from Palma de Majorca (PMI), 13:15 pm arrival in Copenhagen(CPH). Direct flight with Vueling.

As of October 30, the price for a round trip flight was 944 DKR. If you want 1 x checked bag it will cost app. 500 DKK extra for a round trip. Total price for the flight ticket including 1 x checked bag is under 1500 DKK.

Temple Yoga has bought the tickets at SAS and Vueling homepage separately. Not via Momondo.

Transport to and from the airport can be coordinated by Temple Yoga. A taxi from the airport Palma de Mallorca to Cal Reiet is about 60 euros, takes 40 min. Taxi can be shared by 4 people (15 euros per person).
